“COOL BIG RIGS” UA-cam channel dedicates itself to spotting "Big Rigs" hauling various freight and commodities through Vernon, a fast growing little city located in the Interior of British Columbia, Canada. "The North Okanagan.'' Forestry, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and construction are the main economics of the area. Trucking enthusiasts will enjoy Class 8 trucks at work keeping the local and provincial economy going.
On occasion I future unrelated content to trucking. Mainly local car shows, lake adventures, basically general outings within the beautiful city of Vernon.
All videos on this channel have been filmed by me. (Hence the poor quality!) They are not the most dramatic videos, however, I truly hope they are enjoyable on some level.

Probably missing from basic wear and tear -- broken from overuse ....not yet repaired.👍
@@coolbigrigs Ah, okay. is is a problem to drive with some of them missing or do they normally immediately have to be replaced?
@@scharlatan2292 it's not a problem driving with missing buckles. This truck and trailer unit most likely delivers custom wood/lumber and/or construction home hardware. The aforementioned product is strapped to the flatbed trailers.. The side curtain's primary job; shield the product from harsh elements-- sunshine, rain, snow and wind, etc. Great question.

@@GamerX66666 hi gamer. Polished aluminum reflects the heat of the day plus minimizes fuel evaporation, ... also possesses corrosion resistance. Microbial contamination cleans easily from the polished surface. Gasoline and diesel must be free of contaminants (remain clean) during transportation from the processing plants hence the shiny, clean appearance of most every taker truckin' down the highway👍 great question, thanks for asking it. Hello Dear FRIEND Chester! 😃 How are you doing? Things are going well here, we had a few nice days. We were able to work again. Since then it has been raining and storming. Thank you for this video mix. The pleasure to read you, Kind regards, Wilfired.
I always appreciate hearing from friends. Glad you're keeping well. Spring weather has been mostly precipitation, a lot of wind and gray overcast days. We experienced the odd sunny day, but spring has been unseasonably cool and wet. I'm not complaining, winter snowpack was dismal. The mountains need all the moisture they can get. Wildfire season is a month off and there's already 150 forest fires currently burning. A city in northern British Columbia evacuated. I'm filming trucks when opportunities arise. Had a run of lowbeds (lowboy, for my American friends) so here's yet another video of heavy equipment being moved around. Unfortunately many units without equipment. Poor timing on my part. The Indianapolis 500 runs this weekend, my eyes will be glued to the race Sunday afternoon. May the best racer win. Hope the weather has improved since we last wrote. Stay safe, Wilifred

Currently, it's still very average: a little sun and then a lot of rain! There has been no more since Thursday evening, overcast skies with a rare appearance of the sun. And tomorrow afternoon: return of the rain!... Apart from that, the Indianapolis race is the Indianapolis 500! Who doesn't know?! I only know it by name, but never seen it. Before what I liked to watch on satellite TV: Nascar races! And I really enjoyed it: the opening ceremonies with the planes flying by!...And the people singing...I don't have satellite TV anymore...Maybe it will be via the web. Hi Chester, great video on a great subject .... certainly prevalent in North America and not something we saw a lot of here in Oz or NZ, there are a few large cars over on the east coast now sporting this livery as social media brings the world together... I certainly liked the T800 that was loading up the link belt, stunning bit of gear and the T800 right at the end of the video, sweet ride, have a bit of a soft spot for T800s as I drove one during my training at Harold Ives trucking out of little rock Ark back in 1997 .... showing my age now ...🤣🤣.... thanks again Chester and keep up the great work... regards Wilson

Living through 4 to 5 months of winter, a person starts appreciating the warmer climate at a very young age. you inquired about my batteries, I run a set of Group 24, 12v sealed lead batteries. WOW - cannot believe the amount of kilometres Aussie truckers make within one trip. Good for you, Wilson. The one thing I've taken away from videoing auto carriers is that it's physical work climbing up & dow, core muscles working overtime. Lol. Especially exhausting if weather is 35 C or greater into the 40s.. Then there's the loading and unloading aspect, keeping vehicles scratch free. Might take a little getting used to seeing that vehicle overhanging in your periphery while truckin down the outback. Perhaps being a double road train (So COOL) there will be no vehicle out front. Most recent video has some new videos with older videos from a year or two ago. The local forest industry is declining in my area. Fewer log trucks, fewer chip fibre trucks, fewer lumber trucks. Fewer reefers. A domino effect. The truck traffic through my little city of Vernon is not what it was five years ago. Difficult searching out really cool trucks. So I just settle on videoing every truck out there. All trucks are cool, in my books. Indeed the weather is warming up. Truck traffic should increase somewhat for summer. Stay safe out there. 😎👍🙏

Preventative measures are important when it comes to avoiding hospital visits. However, I occasionally end up there for minor issues. Thank goodness spring is around the corner. Winter here has been drastically different from what you experienced. Glad there's no long lasting effects from the rain and wind in your area. We experienced less snowfall than forecasted, which we know is not good for the timber industry. The weather wasn't cold enough to slow the progress or even kill off the remaining beetles which have hampered forests over the past decades. Mills are cutting dead wood created by the Mountain pine beetle as fast as they can before the wood completely expires due to rot. Glad you enjoyed the truck video.
